Hello there! I‘m Leya Delray.

As you probably already know, I’m a writer. But besides that, I’m also a reader, a musician, an actress, a sort-of-kind-of artist, and an occasional gardener when I can find the time. I like organic, toxin free living, antiques, whole foods, hobbit houses, history, delectable dark chocolate desserts, classy clothing in contrasting colors, and…um…also alliteration, apparently!

I live in the southern foothills of the Appalachian mountains, where I stay busy with all of the above, as well as working one of those “regular part time jobs” that absolutely nobody blogs about. My greatest goal in life is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and honor Him with everything I do, including my writing.

I decided to call this blog “Panoramic Prose” for a couple of reasons. One is, I inherited from my father a distinct aversion to naming anything directly after myself. I know, I know. Everybody does it. And that’s just fine. But for me, “Leya’s Blog” sounded entirely boring and unoriginal. So I wanted to come up with something more interesting. I like alliteration, as I mentioned, and was looking for something that sounded right with “Prose.” I literally went through a list of over 400 adjectives that began with the letter “P” before settling on “Panoramic” which means, according to google:

“…with a wide view surrounding the observer; sweeping.” OR “Including all aspects of a subject; wide-ranging.”

That pretty wells sums it up, because my writing definitely fits the “wide-ranging” category. I like lots of different subjects and styles, from historical fiction, to fantasy, to mysteries and some occasional sci-fi/futuristic stuff. So Panoramic Prose seemed like a pretty good way to describe what I do here, which is blog about my writing, and anything connected to it.

(And possibly a few things totally unconnected, if the mood strikes!)
